convincing them to abandon those is at the heart of this meeting. we have comprehensive coverage throughout vietnam. jeff glor is in ho chi minh city, formerly known as saigon. jeff? >> glor: john, good evening. and they are rushing to finish preparations here in vietnam for this summit. keep in mind, vietnam only had about ten days to prepare for this. singapore, in contrast, at the last summit had two months to work on this. so final preparations under way right now. we have noticed flags all over in hanoi at least. the three flags together: the u.s. flag, the vietnamese, and the north korean flags. at the last summit in june, president trump and kim jong-un agreed to work toward denuclearization. the big question now is, for americans and north koreans, exactly what that means and maybe more importantly how long it takes to get there. ben tracy is in hanoi tonight. >> reporter: kim jong-un finally arrived at the vietnamese

remains a nuclear threat? >> yes. >> but the president said he doesn't. >> that's not what he said. >> they have the capability of detonating a nuclear device. >> reporter: chun in-bum is a former lieutenant general of the south korean army. have you seen in the past eight months any step north korea has taken to denuclearize? >> no, i have not. but there is a saying in korea that you cannot have a full belly with the first spoon of rice. so, i think the first summit was the start of a long process that we'll have to go through. >> reporter: president trump and secretary pompeo now seem to be acknowledging that if north korea does decide to denuclearize, that is not going to be quick or easy. the secretary said there may need to be more summits, and president trump now seems to have plenty of patience. jeff? >> glor: all right ben, thank you very much. the decision to hold this summit here in vietnam is a purposeful one, and they hope it's also a very powerful one. the economic success that vietnam has had is something the u.s. is pointing to and trying to lead north korea to.
6:35 pm
there are many sensitive parts to this process, what the u.s. is trying to show to north korea. in just a couple minutes here, we're going to have one example in particular that all three countries are looking at. so more on that in just a moment in the broadcast. but for now, john, back to you in new york. >> dickerson: all right, jeff, thank you. the owner of the new england patriots, robert kraft, was hit with a court summons today on charges of paying for sex at a florida massage parlor. he was spotted by tmz over the weekend at a pre-oscars party. as anna werner reports, the investigation has put a spotlight on human trafficking. >> the three-yard line! >> reporter: he's one of the most recognizable faces in the n.f.l. his profile has soared with each super bowl trophy. now, new england patriots owner robert kraft stands at the center of a sex trafficking scandal. >> human trafficking is the business of stealing someone's

6:38 pm
>> i know there's tension there between the desire to be more transparent and let everybody know what we're doing and the desire to ensure the government, through its work, is not unduly tainting anybody. >> reporter: rosenstein said he was not referencing a specific case, but noted the issue of transparency is one that will soon be discussed nationally. rosenstein has overseen the russia investigation since he appointed mueller in may 2017 and is in frequent contact with the special counsel. mueller is required to submit a report to the attorney general, but there is no legal requirement for the attorney general, william barr, to share information with the public. >> i do. >> reporter: during his confirmation hearing, barr would not commit to releasing the full report. >> my goal will be to provide as much transparency as i can consistent with the law. >> reporter: the justice department does not typically release evidence against people who have not been charged with a crime.
